Concatenated recording of a gap-junction current between two astrocytes. 10 mM Cs+ ion, being added to ACSF (the external solution), blocks potassium channels on the external membrane of astrocytes, reducing the leak current, leading to the augmentation of gap junction current. Addition to ACSF of gap-junction blocker (18 β GlcrA) drastically reduce gap junction current.
